Fatal bus crash in northern Thailand kills two drivers, injures 44

In Mueang district, though, two drivers of a long-haul bus were killed and 44 passengers were injured in a crash that happened this morning a few hours after the disaster occurred. The bus, which was operated by Lotusphibul Tours, hit an iron trunk of a signal pole at M.4 on the road leading to Bangkok, from Bung Kan province it was travelling.

The accident happened about at 2:am, today, 03/19/2024. The Hook 31 rescue authority confirmed that the bus smashed into the metal leg of a pole holding the route signs board.

The event was so significant that it not only led to the bus driver’s instant death but also held the same fate for the relief driver. One of the 44 surviving passengers was from Laos according to the ward.

Four critically injured rushed to hospital

Policeman from Pho Klang informed that four individuals are in sharp condition and were send to Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital on a very first rush. The remainder gets lucky and goes under treatment for their injuries and then they get to go home.

The long-distance bus services will need to comply with its new safety regulations which require that every bus has two drivers operating on board it, mentioned Bangkok Post.

It should be noted that the day before yesterday a double tragedy took place on the route Mittraphap Road in Udon Thani province: a pickup truck ran off the road, collided with the streetlight and got buried in the central ditch.

Behind them laid the broken car with no parts to repair with. The alarming news name was Chuad Krutlakorn, who was driving when a road accident occurred; he was still wearing his seatbelt when he had been found dead.
