In a heartbreaking incident on July 19, a mother and her daughter were discovered dead in their residence located in Nong Prue subdistrict, East Pattaya.
The deceased, identified as 67-year-old Rattanaphan and her 35-year-old daughter Prangnalin, were found together on a bed within their single-detached house.

Authorities who responded to the scene found a distressing array of items on the bedside table, including a container of sodium nitrite grade AR, a mortar and pestle, an electronic scale, two glasses, and suicide notes.

The notes revealed their prolonged suffering from severe illnesses and their decision to end their lives after considerable deliberation.
Rattanaphan had been enduring stage 3 lung cancer while her daughter was afflicted with an autoimmune disease.

In their notes, they expressed sorrow for not caring for Chak (alias), the husband and father, during his final days and signed the notes regretfully.
Chak recounted the distressing events leading to the discovery to investigators. Alarmed when his wife and daughter left their Bangkok home without notice, the 67-year-old man searched for them at the East Pattaya house, which Rattanaphan had purchased.

Finding their car outside and receiving no response to his calls, he used a spare key to enter the house.

Inside, he encountered the tragic sight of his wife and daughter’s lifeless bodies. Overwhelmed with shock, he immediately contacted the police.
Authorities suspect that the deaths were a result of suicide by ingesting a harmful substance.

The bodies have been sent for autopsy to confirm the exact cause of death before being released to the family for religious rites, according to Pattaya Mail.
