AirAsia launches Takeover Thailand campaign with celeb partner

AirAsia is reinforcing its commitment to enhancing regional tourism by introducing the Takeover Thailand initiative, aimed at positioning Thailand as the premier destination for travelers from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Teaming up strategically with Tay Tawan, a renowned Thai personality appointed as AirAsia’s Route Presenter for Malaysia, the airline is poised to enhance the travel experience and ignite a sense of wanderlust among travelers from key markets, encouraging them to explore the wonders of Thailand.

This campaign comes at an opportune moment, emphasizing affordability and convenient access for travelers throughout the region. To kick off the festivities, AirAsia is offering complimentary seats (subject to terms and conditions) from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai for a 72-hour period starting today until Sunday, with travel dates valid until November 30.

Moreover, travelers can journey to other captivating destinations such as Krabi, Phuket, Hat Yai, and Bangkok from Kuala Lumpur for as low as 99 Malaysian Ringgit (approximately 750 baht) all-in (subject to terms and conditions) one-way.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, expressed excitement about launching this campaign, highlighting AirAsia’s role in supporting the revival of the regional tourism industry and reigniting interest in Thailand’s attractions among travelers from neighboring countries. As an airline with a strong focus on ASEAN, this campaign underscores AirAsia’s commitment to fostering connections within the region.

Tay Tawan, AirAsia’s Route Presenter, stated that it is an honor to represent Thailand and inspire travelers from Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia to discover his homeland. He emphasized Thailand’s wealth of attractions, from stunning landscapes to its hospitable people, and expressed enthusiasm for showcasing these highlights alongside AirAsia. By bridging Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Thailand, the initiative aims not only to boost tourism but also to strengthen bonds between the nations.

The launch of the Takeover Thailand with Tay Tawan campaign took place at Dadi Cinema in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attracting over 1,000 fans from across the region. The campaign will run until September 22.
