In the wake of the Fatal Shooting of Wife, Police have apprehended an Elderly Man in Ayutthaya, capturing the 72-year-old suspect following a cross-province manhunt. He fled to his hometown in Ayutthaya with the murder weapon in hand, but meticulous investigative efforts led to his arrest.

The tragic incident unfolded on Saturday, March 23, when the suspect, Veera, driven by jealousy, allegedly believed his 75-year-old wife, Monta, had poisoned him.

A confrontation ensued, during which he brandished a revolver in an attempt to coerce her into confessing.

However, the situation escalated when Monta attempted to wrestle the gun from him, resulting in a fatal shot. Veera then fled the scene in a bronze Toyota Vigo pickup truck, evading capture until recently.

Upon his arrest, authorities discovered a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver, four .38 caliber bullets, two spent casings, and a black holster concealed within his vehicle.

Veera was subsequently transported back to the Ban Chang Police Station in Rayong for further interrogation.

During interrogation, the Elderly Man Arrested in Ayutthaya admitted to the Fatal Shooting of Wife, asserting it was accidental during a struggle over the weapon. Subsequently, he drove to Ayutthaya, where authorities eventually apprehended him.

Veera participated in a reenactment of the crime at the scene as part of his confession. He now faces charges for unlawfully carrying a firearm and ammunition in public without a valid reason or permit.

It’s reported that the suspect harbored suspicions of his wife possibly poisoning him, a paranoia that tragically resulted in her death.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway by Monta’s relatives to claim her body for funeral rites in accordance with their traditions.

In a separate incident, a Thai man allegedly shot his friend in a dispute over money and a gold necklace in Ayutthaya province.

The accused purportedly offered his friend a gold necklace as collateral for a loan, but the necklace turned out to be fake. Consequently, the victim declined to lend the money, leading to an argument and ultimately resulting in the gunman shooting his friend.
