Krill-iant phenomenon: Millions wash ashore a Phuket beach
Mai Khao Beach in Phuket witnessed an unusual occurrence over the weekend as millions of krill washed ashore, causing concern among local villagers. Of particular note was the krill’s abnormal purple hue, unlike their usual pinkish-red coloration.
Winai Sae-ew, the Village Headman of Moo 4, Mai Khao, conducted an inspection of the beach yesterday afternoon, revealing a spread of krill extending 4 to 5 kilometers along the coastline.
In response to the phenomenon, some residents took to gathering and cleansing the krill with seawater.
However, others harbored anxieties, speculating whether this event could serve as a forewarning of an impending natural disaster, as reported by Phuket News.
The purple coloration of the krill washed ashore is disconcerting.
Typically, krill shrimp exhibit a pinkish-red hue, but the millions found on Mai Khao Beach displayed an unexpected purple pigment, expressed concerned locals.
This unprecedented occurrence left Winai puzzled.
“It’s strange, and I’ve never encountered anything like this before. I urge the relevant authorities to investigate the cause.”
This mysterious event has left the local community unsettled, eagerly anticipating insights from officials to shed light on its origins. Villagers hope that the investigation will provide clarity and dispel any concerns regarding potential natural disasters. The situation remains under scrutiny.
