Pattaya ditches power poles for a wireless city
With the urbanization progressing, Pattaya is among the cities that have decided to take pioneering steps towards a wireless city. Having achieved the removal of power infrastructure (seen as unsightly overhead electrical cables) from Walking Street, the city authorities are now turning to the second stage of the project which will tackle the visual pollution around South Pattaya Road.
The Pattaya City, Junction with the Pattaya branch of the Provincial Electricity Authority, started to take the disposal process last March 27th.

The main objective of such performance by the Mayor, Poramet Ngampichet, is to embellish the city, retreat away from visual clutter and bring about a newer appearance and décor.
In order to prevent the disruption of traffic jams during the activities, the traffic police and the peacekeepers were stationed on the roads at the tactical positions.
To gain a access convenience notwithstanding the shortcomings, Mayor Poramet offered his apologies and reemphasised the support to the city with the aim of providing both residents and visitors with a prompt internet access, noted Pattaya Mail.
Apart of this, a group protest has erupted on the Facebook official page of Mayor Direct Line. This protest is because the people are afraid of the disorganized cables that find their way to different parts in and around Pattaya.
Criticism arose as these entities; namely, the Pattaya Municipal Electrical Engineering Office’s Public Utility Division, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Pattaya Office, and a private company together started this undertaking along South Pattaya Road.

Meanwhile, the press reports that two thugs stole the living wire from a residential area in Bo Win yesterday, worrying many from the community. The poor contractor who works hard as he has to spend more time away from home helplessly found himself in the wrong hand of the gangsters who rented the place to them.
On coming home from work on Monday, he saw an absolutely traumatizing view which was some of his property just been shattered. The surveillance camera tagged the criminals, a couple riding a blue 2005 Honda Wave 110 motorbike numbered SG5283B, crawling around the victim’s house at 5.07pm.
