Phetchaburi unveils arch to celebrate Thai king’s 72nd birthday

Phetchaburi Governor Nattachai Namphoonsuksan led the inauguration of a commemorative arch to celebrate the 72nd birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. The event, which will enhance the area’s tourism appeal, will be held tomorrow, July 28.

The ceremony, held in front of Ban Tha Takhro Mittraphap 192 School in the Tha Takhro subdistrict of Nong Ya Plong district, saw participation from local government officials, students, and residents.

Governor Nattachai commenced the event by lighting incense and candles to honor the Triple Gem. He then offered floral tributes before the King’s portrait and presented monk robes and alms to monks, who chanted blessings and conducted a water-pouring ritual.

In his address, Governor Nattachai wished the King well and led the attendees in offering floral tributes, incense, and candles to officially open the commemorative arch. The ceremony concluded with singing the royal anthem and visiting an exhibition dedicated to the King inside the school’s assembly hall.

The arch, part of a project to celebrate the King’s 72nd birthday, is situated along Highway 3349 between kilometer markers 14 and 15, in front of Ban Tha Takhro Mittraphap 192 School. This initiative aims to honor the King, demonstrate loyalty and respect to the monarchy, and enhance the scenic appeal of this main route into the Nong Ya Plong district.

Promoting Unity and Tourism

Governor Nattachai highlighted the event’s significance in promoting unity and pride among the local community. Adorned with traditional Thai designs, the arch serves as a tribute to the King and a landmark to welcome visitors, boosting local tourism.

“This arch symbolizes our unwavering respect and loyalty to His Majesty the King and our commitment to enhancing our province’s beauty for residents and tourists alike,” stated Governor Nattachai.

Participants, including students, teachers, and residents, expressed their pride and joy in being part of the significant event. The ceremony showcased the community’s dedication to honoring their monarch and preserving Thai cultural traditions.

“It’s a privilege to be part of this ceremony. The arch is a tribute to our King and a beautiful addition to our community,” reported KhaoSod.
