The Mueang Chai Nat Police Station received a report of a disturbance at a residence in Village 4, Khao Tha Phra Subdistrict, Mueang Chai Nat District, yesterday.

Upon arrival, officers encountered Bank, a 28-year-old Thai man standing shirtless and mumbling in front of a recently calved cow. Despite his strange behavior, Bank did not display any signs of aggression.

The officers inquired about the Bank’s drug use. While he denied using methamphetamine, he admitted to smoking cannabis. Despite being responsive to questions, Bank continued conversing with the newborn calf.

Given that there was no immediate threat, the officers decided to leave Bank under the supervision of his family, advising them to contact the police if his behavior became violent.

Bank’s mother expressed her worries, explaining that her son had been experiencing hallucinations since the legalization of cannabis. She revealed that although he had never harmed anyone, his erratic actions were a significant concern.

The Bank, responsible for caring for the family’s cattle, contributed to their income.

“My son started hallucinating after cannabis was legalized. He often talks to himself and has even wandered around with a knife. He frequently shouts at imaginary figures.”

Recently, the Bank was tasked with looking after a newborn calf, spending hours in its company, and talking to it. This behavior alarmed the neighbors, leading them to contact the police as a precaution.

Bank’s mother further noted that his hallucinations had been sporadic. On better days, he managed his duties without issue, but his sudden outbursts and solitary conversations had become more frequent, raising concerns for the safety of those around him.

“Although he hasn’t hurt anyone, the unpredictability of his actions is worrying. We are concerned about what might happen next.”

The police assured the family that they would act swiftly if Bank’s condition deteriorated and recommended that he seek medical treatment if his hallucinations persisted, according to KhaoSod.
