Yesterday afternoon in Pattaya, tragedy struck as a motorbike carrying two young boys collided with a trailer truck. The older brother tragically lost his life, while the younger one sustained minor injuries.

The boys were on their way from Rayong to Pattaya to visit their mother, according to the surviving brother’s account.

The collision occurred near the entrance of Soi Nong Ket Yai 7 in the Nong Prue subdistrict of Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province. Pattaya law enforcement and Sawang Boriboon rescue teams were promptly alerted and arrived at the scene around 1pm.

Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of the older brother, a 16-year-old boy named Po, crushed under the trailer truck. The aftermath of the accident was grim, with the boys’ white Honda Wave 125 motorbike lying damaged nearby. The younger brother, Hero, aged 12, survived the crash with only minor injuries.

Hero recounted their journey from Rayong to Pattaya, with Po driving the motorbike and him seated at the back. He described how the truck suddenly cut them off while turning into an alley, leading to the tragic collision.

Po was unable to avoid the truck and was run over, while Hero managed to jump off the motorcycle, sustaining only a few bruises.

Jarin Petchad, the 30-year-old truck driver involved in the accident, provided his statement to the police. He claimed to have been turning into Soi Nong Ket Yai 7 when the collision occurred. He stated that he hadn’t seen the motorbike and only became aware of it upon the collision, as reported by Pattaya News.

To verify the accounts provided by Hero and Jarin, local law enforcement is currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area. This will aid in determining the exact sequence of events and whether legal charges should be pursued against Jarin.
