Near Mabprachan reservoir in East Pattaya, a man afflicted by muscular dystrophy was discovered residing in a makeshift tent.

TMN News Pattaya encountered the man, identified as Chai, who recounted his challenging journey.

Originally from Kanchanaburi Province, Chai narrated his struggles, ostracized by his community after his mother’s demise and left to fend for himself due to his incapacitating ailment. Forced to depart from his caregiver’s residence, he sought sanctuary in East Pattaya, Chon Buri Province, only to be afflicted with muscular dystrophy, exacerbating his vulnerability.

After receiving treatment at a Bang Lamung Hospital, Chai found himself discharged without a place to call home. With no alternative, he settled near the reservoir, relying on the benevolence of strangers for sustenance, lacking familial support or contact information.

TMN News Pattaya promptly alerted local authorities, urging the Pong Subdistrict Municipality to intervene and provide necessary assistance to Chai, as reported by Pattaya Mail.

The reporter emphasized the pressing need for community support and governmental intervention to protect vulnerable individuals like Chai, ensuring they receive the essential care and aid they require.

In a related incident, an unconventional rescue unfolded in Pattaya as authorities rescued a homeless man drifting at sea on a makeshift raft constructed from plastic bottles. Speedboat operators spotted the lone figure atop the raft approximately 2.4 kilometers off Bali Hai Pier around 11 a.m. on March 12, alerting the Pattaya Marine Disaster Prevention for a mid-sea rescue.

Additionally, a homeless man in Pattaya was discovered critically injured after a vicious knife assault under the overpass near Motorway 7, Nongprue sub-district, Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri province, during the early hours of March 13.
